What is EICR testing?

An electrical installation condition report (EICR), or periodic inspection report as they used to be called are often referred to by customers as a Landlord Safety Test or Homebuyers TestWho can carry out a EICR? Who can provide an EICR? An Electrical Installation Condition Report – or EICR – is an in-depth inspection of the electrical systems at your home, place of work or public premises. Periodic testing and inspection should only be carried out by electrically competent, qualified electricians.


What happens during an EICR?

The purpose of an EICR (also known as periodic inspection and testing of an electrical installation), is to determine, so far as is reasonably practicable, whether the installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued service. Normally asked for or obtain a condition report due to change of occupancy or a recommended set period of time.
